Four School Districts Hold Joint Board Meeting on February 12, 2011

The Brocton, Chautauqua Lake, Ripley and Westfield school districts held a joint Board of Education meeting on Saturday, February 12, 2011, to discuss ways to deal with the continued decline in state aid to school districts.  The boards first reviewed the recommendations from the original 2007 ASSET shared services study.  In addition to continued discussion on ways for savings to be realized through shared services, also discussed was the erosion of programming for 9-12 students, as a result of less state revenue and declining enrollment. The boards are exploring ways to create more opportunities for students at the secondary level.

This blog was created in response to the joint board meeting and as a forum for the ASSET team to communicate with their communities.
